1. Who We Are
Wastix is the trading name of MeGoo Removals LTD, a company registered in England and Wales and a registered waste carrier.
For data-protection purposes, MeGoo Removals LTD is the controller of the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.
Questions about this Privacy Policy or the way we use your information can be sent to the contact details above.
2. Personal Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use our services. It can include the following.
Your details
- your name;
- your email address and telephone number;
- the address the waste is being collected from, and your billing address if different;
- if you book for a business: the business name; and
- your booking or customer reference.
Your booking
- the date and time window you choose;
- what the waste is and roughly how much there is;
- where the waste is (for example roadside, in the garden, indoors, in the basement, in the loft or on the roof), which floor, and whether there is a lift;
- parking, access and dismantling information;
- any instructions or notes you give us; and
- your quotes, bookings, invoices and booking history.
Photos you send us
When you book or ask for a quote, you can send us photos of the waste. They may also show the area around it, such as a driveway, garden, room or access route.
Waste transfer notes and signatures
The law requires a waste transfer note for every collection. It records your name and address, the waste we collected, and when and where it was collected. We ask you to sign it, either on our device at the collection or through a secure link we send you, so the note includes your signature.
Payment information
You pay us by bank transfer. We see what appears on our bank statement: the name on the paying account, the amount, the date and the payment reference. We never ask for your card details or online banking passwords.
Messages and calls
We keep the emails, WhatsApp messages and notes of phone calls that relate to your booking, including any complaints or feedback.
Website information
Like any website, ours receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, see which pages are used and how fast they load. It does not use cookies, does not identify you and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising tools to track you.
3. How We Collect Your Information
We collect personal information:
- when you book or ask for a quote on our website;
- when you call, email or WhatsApp us;
- when you send us photos;
- when you sign a waste transfer note;
- when you pay us; and
- from someone who books on your behalf, such as a family member, landlord, letting agent or employer.
If you give us someone else’s details, for example when booking for a tenant, please make sure they are happy for you to do so.
4. Why We Use Your Information and Our Lawful Bases
We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis under UK data-protection law.
Quotes and bookings
- to give you a quote, including from the photos you send;
- to confirm, arrange and carry out your collection;
- to give our crew the address, contact details and access information for the job;
- to contact you about your booking, including changes and cancellations; and
- to send you your confirmation, invoice and waste transfer note.
Waste, tax and legal records
- to complete and keep waste transfer notes, as the waste “duty of care” rules require;
- to keep accounting and tax records; and
- to respond to lawful requests from regulators such as the Environment Agency, local councils, HMRC or the police.
Running and protecting our business
- to handle complaints, disputes and legal claims;
- to prevent fraud and misuse of our website;
- to count visits to our website and see how it performs, using Cloudflare Web Analytics; and
- to improve our booking process and services.
Before and after photos of our work
We may show photos of the waste and the cleared area on our website and social media to show customers what we do. We choose or crop these photos so that no people, faces, number plates, house numbers or full addresses can be seen, and we describe the location only by area (for example “Hackney”).
If you would rather we did not use photos of your job, tell us at any time and we will stop using them and remove them from our website.
Marketing
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you by automated means. Quotes and bookings are reviewed by a person.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from bots and attacks. Strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent.
If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask you first and update this policy.
6. Who We Share Personal Information With
We only share what is needed for each purpose. The organisations that help us run our services are:
- Cloudflare — hosts our website and booking system, protects it from attacks, sends our booking emails, creates our PDF documents and provides our visit statistics;
- Supabase — stores our bookings, customer records, photos and documents;
- Resend — sends booking confirmations and documents by email;
- Google — shows collection addresses on a map in our staff booking system;
- WhatsApp (Meta) — when you message us on WhatsApp, or ask us to send your documents that way; and
- our bank, accountant, insurers and professional advisers.
We also share information with:
- our drivers and crew, and any licensed waste carrier we use for your job, who receive the details needed to carry out the collection, sometimes by WhatsApp;
- waste transfer, treatment and disposal sites, where the law requires waste records to be passed on;
- regulators, courts and law-enforcement bodies such as the Environment Agency, local councils, HMRC or the police, where the law requires it; and
- a buyer or their advisers if our business is ever sold or restructured.
Organisations that handle personal information for us must protect it and may only use it to provide their service to us.
7. International Transfers
Some of the organisations above, including Cloudflare, Resend, Google and Meta, are based in or process information in the United States or elsewhere outside the UK.
When personal information leaves the UK, it is protected by a safeguard recognised by UK data-protection law, such as:
- UK adequacy regulations, including the UK–US “data bridge” for certified US companies; or
- the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum (standard contract clauses).
You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, including to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements.
- booking records, invoices and payment records, including the details and photos you sent: 6 years after the end of the financial year in which the job took place, as HMRC requires;
- waste transfer notes: at least 2 years from the collection, as the law requires (3 years for hazardous waste records);
- enquiries and quotes that did not become a booking: 12 months;
- information about a complaint or legal claim: until it is resolved and the time for any further claim has passed; and
- your saved booking progress in your own browser: up to 7 days (see “Cookies and Similar Technologies”).
9. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include:
- encrypted connections to our website and systems;
- a staff booking system that only signed-in, authorised staff can open;
- private storage for photos and documents, opened only through our system or by secure private links; and
- giving drivers and crew only the details they need for each job.
No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we take care to protect your information.
10. Your Data-Protection Rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, you have rights including the right to:
These rights are not absolute. For example, we must keep waste transfer notes and tax records for the periods the law requires, even if you ask us to delete them.

13. Third-Party Websites
Our website links to other websites, such as our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages and WhatsApp.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites.
Please read their privacy information when you visit them.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We will update this Privacy Policy when our services, the technology we use or the law changes. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will let you know where we are required to.
